🍫 Tracey Dixon’s Chocolate Drop-In

🍫 Tracey Dixon’s Chocolate Drop-In

Have you ever wanted to, (or tried to) sing a song, read a poem or show a party piece to an audience, but found that fear got in the way or it went horribly wrong?

Maybe you lost your nerve, or had stage fright?

Maybe you felt you would be judged and heard those negative voices in your head screaming failure, or that you simply aren’t good enough; somebody may have even told you this!

You are definitely not alone.

The Chocolate Drop-in seeks to provide a safe, friendly and non-judgemental environment for sharing your experiences, a place to perform (if you wish) and of course chocolate!

Tracey will tell you a little about her own nerve-racking experiences and if she’s feeling brave, will happily share a song and a wee bit of guitar playing. She is still terribly frightened but has been told it “adds to her performances” in the local Folk Clubs, open mics and beyond. She believes there is no such thing as “bad” singing, poetry or prose; it is an expression from within, like painting.

Bring your voice, instrument and/or experiences for some fun and see what unfolds.

Find her in the cosy, and private area of the Lady Chapel in the Church from 11am ‘til noon. All ages and abilities welcome; children to be accompanied by an adult.

Don’t forget our family ceilidh and barn dance in the community centre from 5pm. And if you feel the urge to dance to one of our exciting acts in our showcase concerts please don’t hold back.

The 2019 Mitcheldean Festival is almost here so it’s time to plan your weekend around all the wonderful events that we have planned for you. Our advance programme is designed to be printed double-sided on A4 paper and folded into an A5 booklet. It can also be viewed on-screen using your PC or compatible device so please consider the environment and only print if you need to.

Our full Souvenir Programme will be available to purchase from selected outlets during the Festival with all proceeds going towards funding future events.

Our fourth Mitcheldean Festival performers CD, “Sweet Return” will be available soon featuring songs by performers at our 2018 festival including Emi McDade, Bewellian, Lila J, Lucy Jarrett, Dick Brice and many more.

In a slight departure from previous years the new CD combines live recordings from last year’s festival with tracks donated by our performers.

At just £5 with 17 tracks and a running time of over 65 minutes it’s an absolute bargain — and all proceeds go to funding future festivals.
